New series on Netflix Week 18

Every week Netflix expands its offer with new series and films. Netflix Originals like Hollywood and Never Have I Ever.

Hollywood

The Hollywood mini-series, by Ryan Murphy, the mastermind behind shows like Glee and American Horror Story, follows a group of actors and filmmakers who try to prove themselves in a highly competitive and hypocritical market just after World War II. Along the way, they face a lot of prejudices about race, sexuality and gender. Can they break through in this popular movie city? And what are they willing to give up for that? The star cast includes stars such as Jim Parsons, Darren Criss and Holland Taylor.

Never Have I Ever

A recognizable Netflix Original comedy series about an Indian-American teenager and all her adolescent problems. Written by actress and writer Mindy Kaling (The Office, Inside Out), who based the story on her own childhood.

Into the Night

Into the Night is the first Netflix Original from Belgium. The series revolves around a couple of passengers on a night flight from Brussels. They find out that the sun – yes, really – is suddenly deadly to people who come into contact with it. The flight heads west to avoid the sunlight, but in the meantime the passengers themselves go mad with despair and fear.

Extracurricular

Schoolboy Oh Jisoo tries to stand out as little as possible, but secretly runs a risky business that no one should be able to find out. When a classmate shows interest in Oh Jisoo, his double life is at stake.

Modern Family

Fortunately, Netflix put eight seasons of Modern Family back online yesterday. And yes, they have been seen before, but hopefully they will stay on it now. The well-known sitcom with Ed O’Neill and Sofia Vergara, among others, will be upgraded soon. Seasons May 9 and 10 will follow on May 24.
